When Ashley shared this with me I said "Damn Right!", what a great thing to aspire to. #girlpower #womenrock #bestteamever
But then I reflected and thought "What kind of person did my mom and dad want me to marry?" ???????? My parents never wanted me to marry a CEO, nor a VP, Director or any role. They did not pigeon-hole me as the "wife" of someone. I don't actually have anyone to prove wrong and to defy the odds against. My parents knew from early on that I would never be defined by who I marry. That anyone in my life would only make me better, rather than define who I was. They never instilled limiting beliefs on what a woman was capable of and/or that I should marry a successful person to take care of me.
They knew I was destined to make a dramatic impact in my life and the lives of those around me.
And that is pretty freaking cool!
So I actually don't relate to this quote , at least not the full quote. I do relate to the "BE THE CEO."
I am only just tapping into that potential my parents saw, 20+ years into my career.
As #drewdudley @DayOneDrew says "we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light and not our darkness that frightens us."
I am stepping into the light as I embark on my own leadership journey through #CTI next week.
I declare ... I am powerful beyond measure and each of you are powerful beyond measure too!
Go toward the light and BE THE CEO of your life!
